The key objective of the assignment was to prepare a feasibility report on use of renewable energy in pilot Collectorates identified by Government of Bihar and to define the practical feasibility and cost/ benefit of using small scale renewable energy for a range of other common government requirements. ITPI’s tasks included review of previous experience and lessons learned in similar renewable and energy efficiency interventions in India, energy demand analysis and preliminary energy audit in selected Collectorates, evaluation of techno economically feasible renewable energy and energy efficiency options, rapid assessment of the penetration of small scale renewable energy systems in Bihar, ,preparation of strategic training plan for building capacity for stakeholders etc.
