Analysis of Government of India’s flagship Schemes from an energy point of view (2014)

The proposed piece of work intended to map the ongoing rural development and livelihoods schemes where access to energy can play a significant role in enhancing their impacts; draw synergy with existing (and/or potential) renewable energy programmes; identify and suggest technological and delivery options for enhancing energy access; sensitize key stakeholders on the above synergies and undertake a few trendsetting projects on the ground. Some of the flagship programmes of Government of India that were studied in detail are the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), Total Sanitation Campaign Programme (TSC), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), and National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), etc.
