The objective of the assignment was updating and finalization of Afghanistan Rural Renewable Energy Strategy based on the Afghanistan Rural Renewable Energy Policy and preparing a Draft Afghanistan Renewable Energy Policy. The services provided by ITPI included analysis of the status of Afghanistan power system, assessment of the potential of various renewable energy (RE) technologies and assessment of capacities of the relevant public and private sectors in the sector and their willingness and ability to invest. The final output was drafting of Afghanistan National Renewable Energy Policy, and finalising the Policy and strategy for its implementation after incorporating comments and suggestions.
